I’m a self-confessed habitual note taker. I think it’s because I forget things easily. Notes from 1-to-1s, notes from Sunday messages, notes from Sainsbury’s… you get the picture.
But one thing I’ve noticed over the years is that my “Quotes” section on the Notes app keeps growing. Maybe for the past 10–11 years, I’ve been jotting down ideas, inspiration, the occasional preach analogy, or just something that stirred me.
Then in 2020, a seed was planted a strong sense that I should begin sharing some of this. Not just keeping it in my Notes app to die a quiet digital death, but actually documenting the journey. Sharing the things I’m mulling over. Lessons from church planting, pastoring, leading teams, and just trying to work with people (which, as you know, is an art and science all of its own).
Since then, I’ve become increasingly aware of the wealth of wisdom in the people around me- leaders I’ve admired, learned from, and been sharpened by. And so, the idea was born:
Welcome to Wisdom Digest.
This is a space to share what I’m learning little nuggets, tested thoughts, borrowed brilliance, and the occasional “here’s what not to do” story. This is for anyone who’s ever asked, “How would you handle this?”, “Got any advice for this situation?”, or the classic “What would you do here?”
Let me be clear: I’m not the fountain of all knowledge. I’m just a committed learner who’s trying to pay attention. Proverbs tells us to seek wisdom like treasure, and I’ve always had a curiosity for principles that help us grow and lead well. If we believe leaders are learners, then this is a space to lean into that fully.
So here’s what to expect:
I’ll share what I’m learning
I’ll invite others to do the same
And together, we’ll build a community of shared wisdom, where we reflect, wrestle, apply, and grow
Here’s my invitation to you:
What have you been learning recently?
What’s a quote, principle, or scripture that’s stuck with you lately?
What’s something you’re trying to apply or figure out in real-time?
Drop it in the comments, reply via email, or bring it into a conversation- we get better by learning with each other.
Let’s grow in wisdom, together.
Luke
‘It’s not about how far you go. It’s about how faithfully we go.’
Reminds me of not only the physical aspect of moving, but also the fact that we all are on our own individual journey that God has for us. It’s not about comparing where other people are, but being faith filled and choosing to follow where you’re led.
Love this! I’ve been learning from your wisdom for 14 years. Excited to see this kick off. (And it’s true, the amount of notes on your phone is unmatched).
